Nathan Clements, First Aid Trainer and CPR tutor, uses Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) advice in his everyday role; he shares why the charity’s annual Cuppa for the Crew campaign is his way of giving back.
Nathan said: “As a trainer for both the Gaelic Athletic Association and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, the RNLI’s casualty care check cards are crucial to my teaching toolkit. Empowering people to develop lifesaving skills is incredibly rewarding. Now, I want to give my own time back to support the Cuppa for the Crew campaign, helping to raise the vital funds that keep our volunteer lifeboat crews safe on the water.
“Cuppa for the Crew allows you to both connect with your community and raise a toast to all the crew who are keeping us safe around the coast. I’m renting out the local hall for this year’s fundraiser, and we’re hoping for a large turnout.”
Cuppa for the Crew is an annual RNLI campaign where individuals are encouraged to raise money for the organisation over a tea or coffee. It is a flexible fundraiser that encourages supporters to gather as many family, friends and colleagues to join the event as possible, at a time and venue that suits them best.
There is no minimum amount needing to be raised for supporter participation, so everyone is encouraged to join in. Upon registration, individuals will receive a limited edition Cuppa for the Crew tea towel and can download a free fundraising guide to assist their journey. All money raised during the campaign will go directly to the RNLI and will help fund their lifesaving work.

Last year saw so many generous individuals fundraise for the RNLI over a brew, and we hope that people will have even more fun participating this year. Every penny raised goes towards our mission of saving lives at sea.”
