999 Family Fun Day Returns to Port Solent

Port Solent’s much-loved 999 Family Fun Day returns on Saturday 5th September, bringing emergency services, specialist teams and historic vehicles together for a free day of family fun.

Visitors will have the chance to get up close to the people, vehicles and equipment behind the services that help keep the local community safe.

Among those attending will be Hampshire Search and Rescue, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, the Coastguard and South Central Ambulance Service, alongside displays from the RNLI, MOD Police and RAYNET.

Lisa Fowler, Events and Marketing Manager at Port Solent said: “Our 999 Family Fun Day is always a real highlight in the calendar. We’re delighted to welcome back emergency services and organisations that support our local communities, with a fantastic range of vehicles and displays for visitors to enjoy.

“From emergency response vehicles to historic police cars, the event offers families a rare chance to see behind the scenes, meet the people behind the uniforms and discover more about the work they do.”

Some attending services remain operational and may be called away to an emergency during the event.

The event takes place ahead of Emergency Services Day on 9th September, a day dedicated to recognising and showing support for emergency services staff.
