Employees, along with their families and friends, came together to celebrate the pride, skill and craftsmanship behind some of Princess Yachts’ most iconic models at the inaugural ‘Crafted in Plymouth’ Family Boat Show.
Designed exclusively for Princess employees, the event was held at King Point Marina in Plymouth from 4–7 June and gave attendees the opportunity to experience Princess yachts finished exactly as customers see them.
The private event provided a unique, first-hand opportunity for those who design, build, and support the production of the company’s world-renowned yachts to experience them finished and fully dressed while sharing their achievements with loved ones.
Building on the success of previous family engagement initiatives, over 1,500 people registered for the event and were able to step aboard the S80, S65, F50 and V50 to gain a deeper appreciation of the quality, innovation and attention to detail that go into every yacht, helping families to connect with the products their relatives help create every day. For many employees, it was a rare opportunity to see the completed yachts together and understand the scale and impact of the work carried out across the shipyards.
Will Green, CEO of Princess Yachts, said: “The Crafted in Plymouth Family Boat Show was about recognising the incredible talent and dedication of our people. Every yacht on display represents thousands of hours of skill, teamwork, and craftsmanship. It was wonderful to see employees sharing that achievement with their families and celebrating the role they play in creating world-class yachts here in Plymouth.”
Throughout the event, families explored the yachts on display, learned about the build process and celebrated the craftsmanship that has earned Princess, and Plymouth, global recognition as a centre of excellence in yacht manufacturing. The event’s success demonstrated the importance of connecting the Princess team and their families with the products they help create, reinforcing the pride, dedication and expertise that define every yacht. Following the positive response, Princess plans to make the Family Boat Show a more regular event in the future.
