Premier Marinas has completed the first stage of its pontoon development programme at Falmouth Marina, following its commitment to invest £2million to improve the facilities by 2029.
In December 2025, Premier Marinas commenced the development in partnership with pontoon specialists Walcon Marine. The initial four-month long development plan has seen the replacement of the 40-year-old pontoon along the main walkway with technology upgrades set to improve the services for berth holders throughout the marina.
Mark Evans, Marina Manager at Falmouth Marina, comments: “We would like to thank our berth holders for their patience while these works were completed. We know how valuable time on the water is, particularly during the boating season, so completing the upgrades ahead of peak season was a key priority.”
In addition to the capital investment, the marina has completed the first phase of a dredging campaign to clear the access ways around the outside basin, creating easier access for vessels as they approach and enter the marina.
Mark continued: “We have now completed the renewal of the main walkway. This is the most difficult part of the project to deliver and it has made such a positive difference. The old walkway creaked under foot, now it has been replaced with a new solid pontoon, complete with new modern services.
“We’re pleased to see our customers already making the most of the improvements and observing the noise reduction, especially at night. We look forward to delivering further enhancements as the next phases of the project move into delivery.”

The remaining investment at Falmouth Marina will include further upgrades to existing pontoons and the addition of a new gangway from winter 2026. The project will continue to deliver sitewide improvements to utilities access including upgrades to electrical points, lighting bollards, water, fuel and connectivity systems technology. Further improvement will see dredging continue throughout the marina and landside refurbishments to the communal areas such as the reception.
Since acquiring Falmouth Marina in 1998, Premier Marinas has delivered a series of significant investment projects at the site. These have included the construction of a dedicated boat lifting area, the incorporation of Port Falmouth Boatyard, the installation of additional pontoons, the development of dry stack facilities and major upgrades to customer amenities.
