Trade Tuesday, one of the Southampton International Boat Show’s most popular industry events, returns for its fourth year on Tuesday 22 September and marine professionals are being encouraged to register early to avoid missing out.
Taking place from 08:00–12:00 in the British Marine Trade Lounge, New Wave Hall, the free event will deliver a packed morning of expert insight, fresh thinking and high-value networking, followed by a networking lunch.
Having grown in popularity and sold out in previous years, Trade Tuesday has firmly established itself as a key event in the marine industry calendar. Its focused half-day format gives professionals the opportunity to hear from respected speakers, gain practical business takeaways and make new connections while maximising their time at the Show.
This year’s programme will cover topics including sustainability, exporting, insurance and claims, good business practice and the perseverance needed to overcome challenges and achieve success.
The morning will begin with a networking breakfast at 08:00, followed by the British Marine South and Isle of Wight AGM and British Marine Trades Association AGM.
Trade Tuesday will officially open at 09:30 with a welcome from Ben Taylor, Chair of the Marine Trade Association, Founder/Director of Taylor Media and a recognised industry figurehead, before British Marine’s new CEO Earle Stanner takes to the stage giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about the person leading British Marine into its next chapter.
This year’s keynote address comes from Invictus Games gold medallist Alex Krol. Drawing on his personal experiences, Alex will share a powerful perspective on perseverance, resilience and overcoming adversity.
The business-focused sessions will include practical guidance from global loss adjusting and claims management specialist Sedgwick on good practice relating to insurance policies and claims. Phillip Easthill of European Boating Industry will provide an update on the upcoming UK and EU regulatory changes affecting marine businesses, while Tom Dowdell, Head of Marketing at Williams Jet Tenders and Evene Jet Tenders, will present a sustainability case study exploring how environmental ambitions can be turned into meaningful business action.
The morning will conclude with lunch, giving attendees further time to continue conversations and build relationships with colleagues from across the sector.
