The Ibiza JoySail has announced it will return for a seventh edition, taking place 23 – 26 September 2027.
This year’s event saw 19 sailing superyachts take up residence in Marina Ibiza, setting sail each day to participate in coastal courses that put competition and camaraderie top of the agenda.
Amongst the racing fleet were regatta newcomers and returning participants. The fleet was split across several classes, and each yacht was welcomed with a gift of wine from VilaVins. Prizes were awarded to the class winners and additional trophies given for yachts helmed by their owners. Marina Port de Mallorca also gifted a two-night stay, and Monzó presented winners with an antifouling package.
“The sixth edition of the Ibiza JoySail has come and gone, and we are still amazed by the spectacular yachts that grace us with their presence. From the organising committee, our most sincere thanks go to the owners of these fantastic yachts, and our hope that they will continue to share the end of summer with us in Ibiza for many years to come. Our thanks also go to their crews and, of course, above all to the entire “crew” behind the Ibiza JoySail, who continue to give their very best year after year. The results of that effort are there to be seen, making this yet another outstanding edition of the regatta, both on the water and ashore.” – Nacho Postigo, Race Director for Ibiza JoySail
Supported by North Sails for sail repair, Yacht Moving for logistics, Varadero Ibiza, and Super Oh for provisioning, owners and crew were assured of a seamless experience.
The iconic Mediterranean event is set against the spectacular backdrop of Ibiza and Formentera. With a wide selection of course options at their disposal, the Race Organisers are able to maximise time on the water in optimal conditions.
For Swan 115 MOAT, a yacht that has participated in every edition of the Ibiza JoySail date, it’s the event’s location that sets it apart: “The great thing about Ibiza is the wide variety of courses, which makes for a very enjoyable regatta; plus, we’ve had excellent sailing conditions with steady, beautiful winds.” – Cole Parada, Tactician for MOAT
The Perpetual Trophy will also make a return for 2027, a 30-day available window before the start of the Ibiza JoySail Superyacht regatta in which yachts can make the 48-nautical-mile sprint from Punta Cala Figuera in Mallorca to the island of Tagomago in Ibiza and claim the title of fastest to do so.
Alongside the regatta sailing, Ibiza JoySail arranges for a fleet of chaseboats from Boating Ibiza to host press and VIPs on the water. With the fuel for these sponsored by Repsol, guests remain close to the on-water action each day.
An exclusive shoreside setup, in collaboration with Roto, ensures entertaining evenings and events that bring teams together, sharing in talk of the day, food, drink, and the Ibiza JoySail’s generous hospitality.
