The clock is ticking down to the second Preliminary Regatta of this Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup cycle and it’s a final chance for all the sailors to make their mark, drive momentum into their teams and go into 2027 with that all important sporting quality – confidence.
Large numbers of spectators are expected, and in order to cater for the expected fans, the free-to-all Official Race Village has been extended down the Lungomare Caracciolo to give ample viewing options for all.
The main stage in the Race Village is the beating heart of the regatta with daily, hosted dock-out and dock-in shows at midday and 17.00 CEST from the 25-27th September to get the sailors and teams as close to the fans as possible. On Thursday 24th September – the Official Practice Day – make a note that the teams will all be presented on stage after they have come off the water at 18.30 CEST.
The main stage will also host local musical performances after the Teams Presentation and dock-in shows, and come Sunday 27th September, the winners of the event and the winners in the Women & Youth rankings will be presented with trophies – not to be missed and a wonderful photo opportunity.
Throughout the Race Village, fans can indulge their culinary palates at the Food Court with extensive cuisine on offer, and the ever-popular merchandise shop will be open for brisk business – grab your favourite team colours and wear with pride! Down on the beach in front of the main stage, a beach bar will be installed for use by everyone, getting you close to the water and the action. Numerous sponsor and experiential installations will be on-site throughout the Race Village and it opens daily from 11am across the four days of 24-27th September inclusive. Within the Race Village and down the Lungomare Caracciolo, large screens will feature the live broadcast, but fans can also enjoy the America’s Cup Radio Channel which brings all the action live from the broadcast with no delay straight into your headphones. Racing starts every day at 14.00 CEST with a packed schedule that will see three fleet races per day on Friday 25th September and Saturday 26th September.
On Sunday 27th September, two further fleet races – eight in total – will be tallied on a high points scoring basis (10 points for a win) and then the top two boats will advance to the one-on-one match racing final. The winner will have deserved the victory after an intense regatta.
