PRINCESS YACHTS CUTS CARBON EMISSIONS BY NEARLY 20%

Princess Yachts is proud to announce significant progress in its sustainability journey, achieving a 19.78% reduction in total carbon emissions in 2025, as detailed in its 2025 Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting (SECR) report. The results mark a major step forward in reducing the environmental footprint of its operations across its facilities in Plymouth.

These improvements reflect a clear focus by the company on lowering emissions across energy use and production operations, supporting the business’ commitment to more sustainable manufacturing. A key driver of this progress has been a step-change in renewable energy generation. Solar installations across two sites generated more than 2.9 million kWh of renewable electricity in 2025, significantly reducing reliance on grid-supplied power and contributing to a 37.52% reduction in electricity related emissions year-on-year.

The company achieved further significant carbon emission reductions across multiple areas in 2025. Emissions from natural gas and other fuels decreased by an impressive 9.12% compared to 2024. Transport emissions were reduced by 45.39%, reflecting the company’s efforts to optimise fleet operations and lower fuel consumption. Overall carbon intensity improved by 5.50%, showcasing the company’s continued commitment to reducing emissions relative to business performance.

Alongside its transition to renewable electricity, Princess Yachts has continued to invest in lower-carbon energy systems across its facilities. Over the same period, the biomass system delivered approximately 4.4 million kWh of heat, enabling a 48% reduction in traditional heating oil consumption. The business has also continued rolling out energy‑efficient LED lighting across multiple locations and continued its submetering programme to identify and reduce energy waste. Further operational improvements are also underway, including the transition of the forklift fleet from diesel to electric, supporting the company’s ambition to reduce emissions across all of its operations.

“At Princess Yachts, we are committed to creating a sustainable future for our customers, our people, and our industry,” said Will Green, CEO at Princess Yachts. “Our 2025 SECR report demonstrates meaningful and measurable progress from a step-change in renewable energy generation to significant reductions in operational emissions. We are committed to embedding sustainability into how every Princess yacht is built, while continuing to invest in innovative solutions that reduce our environmental impact.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Princess Yachts plans to continue strengthening its sustainability programme through several key initiatives. The company aims to expand its solar energy generation capacity, enhance biomass systems, introduce further submetering projects designed to optimise energy usage and additional LED lighting installations are planned across sites to further improve efficiency. Princess will also continue to optimise the product range through advanced technologies, innovative hull design and weight optimisation to improve efficiencies of its fleet.
