Whitstable Yacht Club has won a Suzuki-powered safety boat package following a prize draw at the 2026 RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show.
Sailing clubs were invited to enter the competition in the run-up to the show, with more than 200 entries received. The RYA then selected five clubs at random, with each welcomed onto Suzuki’s stand for a final live draw. Whitstable Yacht Club’s name was drawn from a hat as the overall winner.
Anthony and his son Dextor were there to claim the prize at the show, and expressed their excitement at winning the draw.
Anthony Middleton said: “We are delighted to have won. The boat will be put to really good use within our race and youth development scheme. We are very grateful for the generosity from Suzuki, Avon Marine and Extreme trailers, and are looking forward to getting out on the water.”
The safety boat package included a River Boats AM 420, supplied through Avon Marine, a Suzuki DF20A outboard and an Extreme Trailers Bunk trailer – a bundle worth £9,850.
The Suzuki DF20A is a lightweight, high-performance and efficient outboard motor. Benefitting from battery-less electronic fuel injection for quick starts and smoother running, and the Suzuki Lean Burn fuel control system for greater fuel efficiency according to operating conditions, the DF20A is an excellent choice for powering sailing club safety boats.
