This festive season, Wetwheels Foundation is inviting supporters to give a gift that makes a lasting difference by giving the ‘Gift of Wetwheels’. This will fund unique opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged individuals to experience the thrill and freedom of the sea.
Through a national network of fully barrier-free powerboats, Wetwheels provides life-changing adventures onboard for people of all ages and abilities. Each voyage delivers more than just excitement – it builds confidence, independence and connection.
From young people steering a boat for the first time to older guests rediscovering long-forgotten memories, Wetwheels’ experiences make an impact every day. The Foundation’s mission is simple: to make the sea accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background or ability.
“Our goal is not just more boats, but more lives touched,” says Geoff Holt MBE DL, Founder of the Wetwheels Foundation. “Every donation helps create a life-changing moment – confidence restored, fear overcome, a sense of freedom rediscovered. What a fantastic Christmas gift!”
The last 12 months has delivered some impressive Wetwheels stats. They welcomed in excess of 11,000 participants on board, delivering more than 1,400 inclusive trips nationwide. With eight boats operating across the UK, including the newly launched Wetwheels Torbay, the charity is close to reaching its target of 12,000 participants by the end of 2025.
What you don’t see is that behind every trip is a dedicated community – volunteers and trustees who together contribute more than 2,500 hours a year to ensure every experience remains safe, empowering and truly barrier-free.
This festive campaign offers a powerful way to make a difference – and donors can mark their support with a unique gift certificate to share across their social channels. Please help us spread the word this Christmas; adventure should have no boundaries.
