TYHA launches revised Code of Practice at ICOMIA World Marina Conference 2025

The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), in partnership with Marina Projects Ltd, has announced the official launch of the revised TYHA Code of Practice at the ICOMIA World Marina Conference 2025 in Venice.

This comprehensive update reflects significant consultation with both UK and international TYHA members, alongside the integration of key principles from a range of established international codes and regulatory frameworks. The result is a modernised and highly relevant resource designed to support operational excellence and strategic development within the global marina sector.

The revised Code is structured across four dedicated volumes, each addressing core areas of marina operations and infrastructure:

  • Planning & Development
  • Marina Operations
  • Boatyard
  • Superyacht

This revised edition represents a major milestone for the industry and has been carefully developed to align with evolving operational standards, environmental considerations, and customer expectations.

Jon White, General Manager at TYHA, said: “The leisure marine sector is growing and evolving at a rapid pace, putting increasing pressure on marina designers, builders and operators to maintain the highest standards. Our new Code of Practice provides the best possible guidance for our members across 30 countries to achieve just that.”

While Mike Ward, Managing Director of Marina Projects Ltd, said: “The World Marina Conference provided an invaluable opportunity for TYHA and Marina Projects to bring the conference up to speed on the collaboration between the two organisations. The launch of the 8th Edition of the TYHA Code of Practice for marina planning, design and operations, also formed the focal point of our joint stand at the conference and the Marina Projects team were impressed and excited by the extent of interest in the launch, from across the full breadth of the international marina community.”

The new TYHA Code of Practice will be made available to members in early 2026. To support its rollout, TYHA will host a series of in-person roadshow events across the UK, as well as online sessions during the first half of the year. These will provide members with the opportunity to explore the revised Code in detail, gain practical insights into its implementation and have their questions answered directly by the TYHA team. Further information and dates will be shared soon.
