Tingdene Group Expands UK Presence with Acquisition of Farndon Marina

Tingdene Group have completed the acquisition of Farndon Marina near Newark, adding over 300 berths to its growing national marine portfolio.

This latest acquisition marks an important milestone for Tingdene Marinas as it expands its footprint to 11 marinas across the UK and establishes a presence on the River Trent for the first time. Strategically located with navigable access through Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, Farndon Marina further strengthens Tingdene Marinas’ waterways network and underscores its commitment to providing high-quality facilities and services to the UK’s boating community.

Previously managed by the Ainsworth family for over 59 years the site offers a wide range of on-site amenities, including modern washroom facilities, secure parking, fuel, pump out, chandlery, boat servicing and repair, a slipway and an on-site restaurant.

Paul Ainsworth, son of the founder who has managed the business for the past 16 years, adds: “This has been more than just a business – it’s been part of our family’s identity for decades. This latest acquisition extends Tingdene Marinas’ offering of marina berths, boat sales and customer services into a key boating region and is in line with Tingdene Group’s vision to provide an integrated national network of marinas that deliver consistency, value and community throughout the UK.

Tingdene Group’s acquisition was supported by Shoosmiths LLP, who led legal due diligence, and Mercer & Hole, who conducted tax diligence. Paul Ainsworth was supported by Browne Jacobson leading vendor legal due diligence and Corporate Finance Advisors Xeinadin, with the sale and marketing process being overseen by Christie & Co.
