RNLI Charity Event Talk by Captain Andy Wyatt

Thornbury Sailing Club invites you to attend a charity event from 2pm to 4.30pm on 1 November in aid of the RNLI. Invitations have been sent to Sailing/Yacht Clubs in the Upper Bristol Channel area and it is to be expected that a large number will be booking to attend.

Capt. Wyatt joined the RAF aged 18 and after completion of flying training was selected to fly the iconic English Electric Lightning where his duties included intercepting Russian aircraft during the height of the Cold War. Following a tour of duty as a Qualified Flying Instructor, including a season as the Hawk Display Pilot in 1988, he was selected to join the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team – The Red Arrows. Drawing on his experience as a military airline Captain, Capt. Wyatt brings to life the world of aviation through real life stories and amusing anecdotes, using dramatic examples to illustrate his insight lectures.

Capt. Wyatt has requested that the event raises funds for the RNLI, so a £5 booking fee will be charged all of which will go to the charity.

The talk will be held in TSC’s events marquee and is expected to take the form of 2 sessions with a break in between for tea/coffee/ liquid refreshment. It is advisable to book early as a cap on numbers may need to be made.

This event will present an opportunity for members from local clubs to meet and although the event is scheduled to end at 4.30pm the Club will remain open for those who wish to socialise afterwards.
