Kawasaki is launching two new sit down models for 2026, each with its own distinct personality and positioning.
While the two-seater craft come under the STX160 umbrella naming – and share the revered 112 kW (152 PS) at 7,500 rpm, the liquid-cooled, 1,498 cm3 In-Line 4-cylinder Ninja supersport-based engine – the attention to detail to cater for specific sectors of the marine market is impressive.
The STX160X in many ways represents an entry to the world of Kawasaki two-seat personal watercraft. Appealing to those perhaps just starting their ownership journey, the STX160 active sport model is built up to a spec and not down to a price. It offers all the key features riders need for enjoyment on the water as well as numerous flagship-inspired features like an easy-to-read 7” TFT display, KSRD smart reverse, adjustable Electronic Cruise Control, and even Electric Trim Control.
Like its sibling, the STX160X has a convenient one-touch 5mph mode for use in “No Wake” zones regulating engine speed to maintain a forward speed of 5 mph (8 km/h).
All models also feature power mode selection and KSS (Kawasaki Smart Steering). While power can be selected from Full, Middle and Low, there is also a Smart Learning Operation (SLO)-Mode which is ideal for becoming familiar with surroundings and getting used to a new JET SKI.
Likewise, both new models feature Kawasaki Smart Reverse with Deceleration electrically deploying a “reverse bucket” activated with a thumb switch on the handlebar enabling thrust to be controlled with one hand.
Also in the line up is the LX or Luxury Sport model boasting accent lights, a unique smoked meter visor to add to its classy looks. All models feature the TFT full colour display with a large, easy-to-read 7” screen offering multiple display modes a jog-dial control, Bluetooth connectivity, and even infotainment features. Standard equipment on the STX 160LX, is the JETSOUND audio system including an amplifier rated at 200w plus a pair of speakers all compatible with iPhones, other smartphones and audio players that have Bluetooth capability.
Adding to the showroom spec, a wide range of genuine accessories offer customers many options for customisation, vehicle protection and convenience. And in terms of colours, the new models have fresh new scheme while existing ST and Ultra models will also receive 2026 specific colours and graphics.
The coming season marks another milestone for Kawasaki as a personal watercraft innovator and its new STX models will doubtless bring joy and excitement to a new swathe of enthusiastic owners. JET SKI – only from Kawasaki.
