Musto’s Championship Sailing Smock has been nominated for the Clothing Innovation of the Year in the 2026 British Yachting Awards. Last year the Musto EVO range won the 2025 Clothing Innovation of the Year award.
“It is a testament to the design team that year on year, Musto is picking up these accolades which importantly are voted for by the public, in other words, the sailors!” said Nick Houchin, Marketing Director, Musto. “The Musto Championship Sailing Smock 2.0 is aimed at the grass roots of our sport and is a proven garment built for fast-paced inshore sailing.”
The Musto Championship Sailing Smock is a stretchy and protective smock launched to the market earlier this year as part of Musto’s new Championship Collection that made its debut at the RYA Watersports & Dinghy Show. The smock’s neoprene adjustable hem gives a watertight seal and locks in body heat for superior freedom of movement and 5,000mm waterproof protection.
The Musto Championship Collection is a purpose-built range designed for the next generation of competitive dinghy sailors which includes neoprene wetsuit tops and long johns, hiking pants, wet suit pants, smocks, and a hooded jacket. The collection reflects the realities of championship dinghy sailing: short, intense races in highly variable conditions. Every garment is engineered for unrestricted movement, lightweight comfort, protection, and fast drying, making it ideal for repeat use across training and regatta weekends.
Last year Musto’s EVO range won the British Yachting Awards Clothing Innovation of the Year. The EVO collection delivered cutting-edge science to outdoor performance wear, with innovative thermo-regulating technology designed to keep wearers comfortable all day.
