Littlehampton RNLI’s December Dip fundraising event has now become a regular fixture in the winter calendar and is scheduled to be held this year on Sunday 7 December at The Beach cafe on Littlehampton’s East Beach.
Now in its fourth year the December Dip is a fun, if chilly, way to raise funds for the RNLI – the charity dedicated to saving lives at sea. The proceedings will run from 9.30am through to 12.30pm with the first dip at 10.30am, however, participants are permitted a maximum of only ten minutes in the water. This good natured brief winter sojourn into the Littlehampton surf is often followed by a welcome hot drink whilst enjoying the warm support of those cheering the dippers on. Participants are required to pre-register online before the day of the event.

Cian Mathews, Littlehampton RNLI’s Fundraising Chair, said: “We are excited to be able to welcome people again to what has become a key part of our fundraising calendar. At our third annual dip we raised over £3000 which directly supported the RNLI in its mission to save every one we can, as even one life lost at sea is too many. We encourage people to register their interest as soon as possible and join us for what is sure to be a fun and invigorating Sunday morning.”
