Helly Hansen continues its pledge to donate a percentage of its online UK sales to the RNLI during May, in support of its strategic charity partner, RNLI’s Mayday campaign.
The annual campaign raises vital funds for the RNLI ahead of its busiest season, with a higher number of people in the water and an increased risk of danger throughout the Summer. All donations will go towards the RNLI, ensuring they have the lifesaving resources to keep the public safe, including volunteer training, state-of-the-art equipment and critical water safety education.
Since 2018, Helly Hansen has been equipping the RNLI lifeboat crews with professional-grade gear to keep them protected from the elements, in all weather conditions. The partnership continues to provide essential equipment and enhance the RNLI’s safety messages to help reduce drowning rates in the UK.
Emma Russell, Marketing Manager for Helly Hansen in the UK and Ireland, said: “The RNLI save lives at sea and we’re committed to helping the incredible RNLI lifesavers by donating 10% of all UK online sales during the month of May. Particularly as we head into the Summer – the RNLI’s busiest season of all – we take great pride in being their partner and amplifying their lifesaving work by raising vital funds and awareness.”
The donations for May include proceeds from sales of Helly Hansen’s newest kit for Summer 2025 – at no additional expense to the consumer. This includes the award-winning, Ægir Ocean Jacket 2.0 (RRP £725), the brand’s most technical offshore sailing jacket. Designed with feedback from ocean racing professionals, including round-the-world record-breaking sailor, Thomas Coville, Helly Hansen’s Ægir Ocean Jacket 2.0 features advanced HELLY TECH® Professional 3-ply fabric, making it highly protective and fully waterproof. It is designed using premium-quality recycled nylon yarns made from recycled fish nets and features a YKK AQUASEAL® two-way access zip, seamless shoulders and a new modular three-piece collar making it the ultimate choice for robust, offshore protection.
Steve Hulbert, RNLI Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager, adds: “We’re grateful for the continued support of Helly Hansen – the brand continues to raise vital funds to support our lifesavers, who are ready to drop everything when the call for help comes in. Recent figures show that demand for our services continues to rise and the funds raised as part of our Mayday campaign will enable us to save even more lives this year.”
Helly Hansen and the RNLI have been strategic partners since 2018, and are committed to working together to educate and influence those at risk of drowning. To learn more about the Mayday appeal, please visit: www.rnli.org/SupportMayday.
