Musto will be showcasing its new Championship Collection at the RYA Watersports & Dinghy Show, taking place 21–22 February, introducing a purpose-built range designed for the next generation of competitive dinghy sailors. The new Championship Collection range includes neoprene wetsuit tops and long johns, hiking pants, wet suit pants, smocks, and a new hooded jacket, all designed to give optimum technical performance and freedom of movement.
“The new Championship Collection has been created for high-energy dinghy racing,” said Musto Marketing Director, Nick Houchin. “The collection supports young athletes as they progress through youth and junior classes, from Optimist and ILCA to 29er and beyond. Designed for young sailors from the age of 8 to adulthood, the range delivers technical performance, durability, and a modern style that sailors have come to expect from Musto.”
The new products in the Championship Collection sit seamlessly alongside Musto’s existing dinghy range that includes rash vests, buoyancy aids, gloves, and hats – everything a competitive dinghy sailor needs for performance out on the water.
The collection reflects the realities of championship dinghy sailing: short, intense races in highly variable conditions. Every garment is engineered for unrestricted movement, lightweight comfort, protection, and fast drying, making it ideal for repeat use across training and regatta weekends.
“What I like about the Championship Collection is that it brings elite-level features into a range young sailors can grow with. The long john feels technical and race-ready, but it’s also durable for long training days,” said Saskia Tidey, British Sailing Team Women’s Skiff sailor and three-time Olympian, who tested the Musto long john: “Having kit you can trust on the start line makes a big difference.”
The new neoprene products come with an abundance of technical features that include flatlock-stitched seams to minimise chafing and maximise next-to-skin comfort; body-mapped thermal backer strategically placed on the chest and back to enhance core warmth without restricting movement; each piece is built to perform in temperatures ranging from 12–18°C; ergonomic panelling and underarm gussets; abrasion-resistant knee and seat panels; laser-cut drainage that allows water to escape quickly, keeping the suit lighter during racing (see full products details below).
The P&B Race Team sailors also tested the new Championship Collection products throughout 2025, providing invaluable feedback to ensure the end products are fit for performance.
P&B Race Team sailor and 2025 Solo Class National Champion, Oliver Davenport said: “I was testing out the new hikers the whole of last year and provided feedback on the padding, strap adjusters, and fit. It’s nice to have an impact on a product that will be available to everyone,” said Davenport. “I’ve really enjoyed sailing in the new Championship Collection range – the neoprene is really flexible, nice and stretchy, and really comfortable. I really like the hikers – they are solid, stay in place, and are comfortable, which are the major things for hikers.”
Performance remains the primary driver of this collection but also affordability. Built to last and designed for longevity, the collection supports Musto’s commitment to responsible product development.
Visitors to the RYA Watersports & Dinghy Show can explore the full Championship Collection on the Musto stand number C32 and discover how the brand continues to support sailors at every stage of their journey; from first regatta to future podium finishes.
