National marina group boatfolk has partnered with Yachting Ventures to showcase the next generation of marine startups at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show.
The event, titled “Startups Shaping the Future of Marine”, will take place on Thursday 25 September from 3.30 to 6.00pm on boatfolk’s stand (W054). It will bring together pioneering entrepreneurs, marine industry leaders, and innovators to explore how new ideas and technologies are driving change across the sector.
Yachting Ventures is a global startup accelerator dedicated to supporting early-stage companies in the leisure marine and yachting industries. The organisation provides mentoring, resources, and a platform to help entrepreneurs scale their businesses and connect with the wider marine community.
The programme begins at 3.30pm with rapid-fire, five-minute pitches from four marine startups:
-
Andrew Cowen, Founder of ExpeditionZero – building a fleet of the world’s lowest environmental impact expedition yachts.
-
Henrietta Roslund, Co-Founder of MOXSEA – creators of the first-ever White Label Software designed for boat clubs and boat sharing.
-
Greg Johns, Founder of SYNDICO – an all-in-one digital platform transforming how marinas, boat captains, yachting agents, suppliers, and management companies work together.
-
Gregory Edwards, Founder of Hooper Quinn – an engineering consultancy, product development incubator, and advanced technology accelerator for the marine sector.
A panel discussion will follow at 4pm, featuring representatives from the startups and led by Gabriella Richardson, Founder of Yachting Ventures. The panel will consider the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the marine industry, with a focus on sustainability, digitalisation, and collaboration. The event will conclude with networking until 6.00pm, offering attendees the chance to connect with founders, investors, and industry stakeholders.
Gabriella Richardson, Founder of Yachting Ventures says: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with boatfolk at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show. At Yachting Ventures, we’re always looking for ways to give startups a platform, and this event is a chance for UK startups to showcase their ideas and explore how innovation can shape the future of our industry. The UK startup scene is full of exciting marine companies that deserve to be spotlighted.”
