boatpoint launches new office at Deacons Marina

boatpoint, a boat sales business founded by national marina group boatfolk, is launching a new office at Deacons Marina, Southampton.

The new office comes as boatpoint acquires Network Yacht Brokers Hamble and WhyBoats Deacons and is designed to further bolster boatpoint’s expanding boat sales business presence on the South Coast, providing a professional yacht brokerage service in Deacons Marina and the surrounding area.

It will be the seventh boatpoint office in partnership with Network Yacht Brokers, one of the largest groups of independent yacht brokers in the UK and Europe, following the successful start-up and operation of its offices at Conwy (North Wales), East Cowes (Isle of Wight), Haslar (Portsmouth Harbour), Portishead (Bristol), Portland (Dorset) and Royal Quays (Newcastle).

Following the acquisition with WhyBoats Deacons, boatpoint will be an exclusive dealer for Elan Yachts in England, Wales and Ireland, offering some of the most competitive and innovative ranges of new yachts available today, with designs from the fabled Rob Humpreys Yacht Design, and now joined by Studio FA Porsche Design and Pininfarina. Amongst popular models, the newest and largest addition to Elan’s performance range, the 47 ft Elan E6 will be available from boatpoint for the 2022 season. The E6 is intended to be the fastest, lightest and stiffest performance cruiser on the market. With a fully fitted interior this yacht is a go-to choice for serious sailors who also expect high levels of comfort and cruising amenities for their friends and family.

Michael Prideaux, managing director at boatfolk, said: “We know that a brokerage service is something people want at marinas, and the launch of a seventh boatpoint office showcases our ongoing investment in this service and to expanding its geographic coverage. I am very excited for the future and the first-class service we can provide to both our local customers and those that are further afield.”

Andrew Hyland will be staying on and heading up the new boatpoint brokerage office in Southampton and will join boatpoint as Group Operations Manager. Andrew is a lifelong sailor with a passion for dinghy and yacht racing. Having previously worked for Ancasta and Dickies International, Andrew has more than 15 years of experience selling boats.

Andrew said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the boatpoint team at this exciting and pivotal time. With seven offices and counting, it is great to be part of a strong and growing group. Our team of friendly staff are looking forward to being on-hand to answer any questions and help customers buy a boat that suits their needs at a price that offers exceptional value or sell their current pride-and-joy.”
