YAMAHA MOTOR UK PARTNERS WITH SEA ANGLING CLASSIC FOR 2026 EVENT

Yamaha Motor UK is partnering with Sea Angling Classic to support its 2026 event, taking place between 18 – 21 June, at the Premier Marina Port Solent.

Yamaha will be providing a prize at this year’s international angling event, which was founded to support the sport and promote sustainable fishing practices. The winner of the highest placed Yamaha-powered boat at the end of the competition will receive a new3.1m YAM Air V Inflatable.

The Sea Angling Classic promotes UK angling and respect for marine life. As such, the competition operates a shoreline cleanup programme, whereby all competing anglers need to undertake at least one local cleanup operation before registering their entry. This complements Yamaha’s Clean the Sea initiative, which demonstrates its commitment to preventing danger to our planet, whilst motivating its marine community to do the same.

Promoting conservation, participants in the competition are required to catch, photograph, and release five different species of fish – Tope, Smooth Hound, Black Bream, Rays, and Bass. To determine the winner, the longest three fish of each species will be combined for the winning score.

Registration is now open to teams looking to take on the challenge at the 2026 Sea Angling Classic, which will also serve as a fundraising initiative for a new community outreach programme, FreeSpirit of the Sea CIC. This not-for-profit charity is dedicated to providing on-water experiences for cancer patients, disadvantaged children and families, those facing mental health challenges and those with long-term health issues.

Matt Taylerson, Divisional Manager, Marketing at Yamaha Motor UK, says: “The Sea Angling Classic remains a celebration of fishing excellence, community spirit, and environmental stewardship. Yamaha is honoured to support this event and looks forward to continuing its partnership with event organisers Angling Spirit.”
