Falmouth Harbour has appointed Nigel Tipple as its new Chair, following an open recruitment process. The appointment marks the completion of nine years of dedicated service by Mark Chanter, including six years as a Non-Executive Director and three as Chair.
Nigel’s career spans over 30 years working in senior executive and board level positions in both private and public sector organisations. His career has focused on supporting the economic and social regeneration of communities and business including CPR Regeneration in Cornwall and most recently as Chief Executive of Enterprise Oxfordshire. He relocated back to Cornwall with his wife in 2023 and has also joined the Board of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change.
Under Mark Chanter’s leadership, Falmouth Harbour has strengthened its governance, championed the marine environment, delivered innovation across its services and improved engagement with local stakeholders and marine industries.
