A new transatlantic rally has been launched by Sailing Rallies Ltd - the Christmas Caribbean Rally. The rally will leave Marina Rubicon, Lanzarote on 16 December 2013 and arrive at Jolly Harbour, Antigua early in the New Year.

The CCR departs later in the season when the trade winds are likely to be well established and leaves more than enough time for skippers and crews to make the most of the whole of the Caribbean sailing season. Boats can book and secure a place up to three years ahead allowing skippers to plan well in advance.

The Sailing Rallies team commented: “We are determined to make the rally great fun and good value for money. There is a preparation weekend included in the entry fee and all boats will receive 15 nights free berthing (five in Marina Rubicon, three in Jolly Harbour and seven in Port Louis Grenada), discounts with sailing schools and the chandlers Marine Store. We even give a free embroidered shirt for each crew member.

“There will also be a great social and musical side to the rally,  encompassing local interest and culture.”
