 Let’s face it. We’re all pretty much in love with Navionics at the moment because they have offered us some high-class marine software in the form of an iPhone App for virtual pocket change. Well that original boating App has now been improved. The Navionics Marine & Lakes Navigation App for iPhone allows you to share pictures, tracks, routes and markers on Facebook or via email and to view them on Google Earth or Google Maps. You can overlay satellite imagery on marine charts, access a huge ‘Points of Interest’ database and check tides and currents to your heart’s content. It’s no replacement for your on board gear but, as a planning tool and an addictive marine toy, it’s superb.
